Ectoplasms are mysterious, viscous substances said to exude from the body of a medium in trance. I create my electroplated images with the idea that the photograph can be a medium through which the unknown can reach us. Perhaps through experiments that alter the photograph's properties one can crack open its secrets. 

This alchemical process of electroplating transforms these images into evidence of an action that happened or is still occurring. As if something is growing or being released from its two dimensional plane.
